Clinical Experience
I adhere to the clinical scientist model, meaning that I believe that clinical practice often leads to new research ideas, and clinical practice should be based in research whenever possible. Thus, my clinical experiences, particularly those concerning anxious individuals, have greatly informed my current research interests. So far, my clinical experience has been comprised of therapy for individuals with emotional disorders (particularly individuals with anxiety disorders and depressive disorders), couples therapy, substance abuse interventions, cognitive assessments, and personality assessments.
I work at Vermont Psychological Services as a therapist and supervisor for graduate student therapists. My therapy team primarily uses exposure-based and ACT treatments for anxiety, OCD, and related disorders.
